1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of The Copper Chance's in-person dining, lounge, and entertainment services, as well as your access to our onsite events at our Australian venue. They are intended to provide clear expectations so you can enjoy a relaxed, premium card lounge and restaurant experience.
By spending time at The Copper Chance you acknowledge that our focus is on in-person, entertainment-only card evenings supported by seasonal dining and sociable lounge service. No form of online poker, remote participation, betting, or financial gaming is offered or permitted at the venue.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By booking a table, attending an offline poker session, or enjoying our restaurant, you agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any applicable house rules communicated by our team.
Your acceptance applies from the time you make a reservation, enter the venue, or participate in any hosted activity. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not attend card lounge sessions or use our services, and you may speak with our staff for assistance with cancelling or adjusting your plans.
The Copper Chance may, at its reasonable discretion, refuse service or request that a guest leave the premises where behaviour does not align with these terms or with the comfort and safety of other patrons.
3. Venue Use and Reservations
All reservations at The Copper Chance are for dine-in and in-person entertainment only. Bookings cover your table allocation, access to our restaurant and lounge spaces, and, where applicable, participation in offline poker-themed evenings hosted entirely onsite.
Poker activities at The Copper Chance are strictly non-cash, entertainment-based events held at the venue. They are designed to be sociable, light-hearted, and food-led. There is no online play, no remote or digital participation, and no financial gaming of any kind allowed.
Table chips, cards, and other props are provided solely as decorative and entertainment items to support the atmosphere of the lounge. They must not be used for betting, deposits, withdrawals, or any money-related arrangements between guests.
We may set reasonable limits on group size, seating time, and access to particular lounge zones to ensure a comfortable flow for all diners. To secure your preferred time, we recommend using our booking pathway via the Booking page.
4. House Rules for Card Lounge Events
Guests must adhere to established conduct standards during hosted card room sessions and poker nights. These sessions are curated as relaxed, in-person entertainment in a restaurant environment, not as gambling or high-stakes play.
The use of chips and cards is for recreational, decorative, and entertainment purposes only. No betting, side pots, wagers, deposits, withdrawals, cash prizes, vouchers, or financial winnings of any nature are permitted. Guests must not introduce their own betting systems or treat the game elements as financial instruments.
To preserve a welcoming lounge tone, guests are expected to:
- Show respect to fellow guests and staff at all times
- Follow the guidance of hosts running the card tables
- Refrain from aggressive or disruptive behaviour
- Use venue property, including chips and cards, with care
- Comply promptly with any reasonable instructions from staff regarding seating, noise levels, or game flow
If behaviour undermines the comfort, safety, or enjoyment of others, staff may pause a session, move guests to alternative seating, or request that a person leave the card lounge or venue.
5. Dining and Service Policy
The Copper Chance operates with seasonal menus, lounge service, and group dining options designed to deliver a premium restaurant experience that pairs naturally with our offline card evenings. Menu items, pricing, and availability may change without prior notice to reflect seasonal produce and supply conditions.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the venue unless explicitly approved in advance in writing (for example, specialty celebration cakes arranged with our team). BYO arrangements are only available where clearly communicated and agreed.
We reserve the right to manage service pacing, including food and beverage timing, to suit the flow of each sitting and to coordinate with hosted card activities. Disruptive behaviour, including excessive intoxication, damage to property, or harassment of staff or guests, is not tolerated and may result in refusal of service and removal from the premises.
6. Private Group Bookings and Hosted Events
The Copper Chance offers group booking facilities for celebrations, corporate gatherings, and private poker-themed events. These experiences combine curated dining, lounge service, and structured offline card sessions tailored to your group.
All such events remain strictly in-person, non-financial, and must comply with our house entertainment guidelines and these Terms and Conditions. Hosts or organisers must not introduce cash prizes, buy-ins, or any financial reward structures to card-based activities.
Specific booking details such as minimum spends, menu selections, room hire, and timing will be confirmed at the time of your event agreement. Additional terms may apply to larger functions, and these will be communicated to you before your booking is finalised.
For more information on planning a celebration or private card lounge evening, please visit our Events page or submit an enquiry via the Contact Us page.
7. Age Restrictions
Entry and participation in card lounge activities at The Copper Chance are limited to guests aged 18 years and over. This age requirement reflects the mature social environment of our offline poker-themed evenings, even though no gambling or cash-based play is permitted.
Proof of age may be requested at staff discretion at any time. Acceptable identification includes valid government-issued photo ID such as a driver licence, passport, or proof-of-age card. Guests who are unable or unwilling to provide proof of age when requested may be refused access to the card lounge or card-related events.
8. Liability and Guest Responsibilities
While The Copper Chance takes all reasonable precautions to maintain a safe and comfortable environment, guests remain responsible for their own personal belongings, conduct, and decisions while onsite. Please keep valuables with you or in your direct care at all times.
The Copper Chance accepts no liability for lost or stolen property, for personal arrangements made between guests, or for actions of other patrons beyond our reasonable control. Any damage caused to venue property through negligent or intentional behaviour may be charged to the individual guest or booking organiser.
Guests agree to follow staff guidance in the event of an incident, emergency, or required change to seating or event structure and to treat all staff directions about safety or behaviour as a condition of remaining at the venue.
9. Privacy and Data Usage
Personal information provided to The Copper Chance during reservations, newsletter signups, feedback, or other forms of community engagement is handled in line with our Privacy Policy. We collect and use this information only where needed to manage bookings, communicate with you about venue news or events you have opted into, or operate our services.
Your information is not sold and is only shared with third parties where required for operational purposes, such as booking systems or email service providers, subject to appropriate safeguards. The Copper Chance may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or operational practices. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date where relevant.
Your continued use of the venue, participation in card lounge activities, or attendance at hosted events after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically, particularly when planning a new booking, offline poker-themed evening, or private event.
